Twenty years ago, on June 22nd, 2006, in a Tempe, Arizona Starbucks, I said yes to something small — a simple Avon opportunity, a little starter kit, and a quiet hope that maybe this could become something meaningful. I had no idea that “yes” would lead me into a journey filled with growth, resilience, and experiences that would shape the woman I am today.

My Avon story hasn’t been perfect — it has been real. There were seasons when everything flowed effortlessly. The team was thriving, customers were excited, and I felt unstoppable. Then there were the harder seasons… the ones that tested my patience, my confidence, and my willingness to keep going. Team changes. Corporate changes. Life happening behind the scenes. Times when I had to rebuild from the ground up. Those moments taught me patience, perseverance, and the power of believing in myself even when things felt uncertain. Moments when I wondered if I still had that spark.
Every challenge has taught me something. Every setback pushed me to grow. Every comeback reminded me that I was stronger than I realized. That’s the beauty of this business — it stretches you; it humbles you, and then it lifts you higher than ever before.
And the travel… that’s a chapter in itself. Avon has taken me to places where I once only dreamed of — beaches, cities, celebrations where I felt seen, appreciated, and celebrated. Those trips were not simply vacations; they were proof that dedicationcreates opportunity. They were reminders thatordinary women and men can build extraordinary lives when they refuse to give up.
One of the greatest gifts Avon has given me wasn’t the awards or the travel — it was the community. The friendships. The women and men who became family. The ones who cheered with me, cried with me, and grew with me. The ones who reminded me why I started and why I’m still here.
Twenty years later, I’m still leading, I’m still learning, I’m still believing, and I’m very grateful. This journey has shaped my confidence, my purpose, and my heart. And the best part? I know I’m not done yet.
Here’s to the next 20 years of Mary K with Avon — more impact, more travel, more leadership, and more lives touched through this beautiful Avon journey.
