20 Years, Two Names, and One Big Pivot: Meet "Mary K with Avon"

Sleepy Face

They say life is a journey of “pivots,” and as I hit my 20th year in my Avon business, I’m taking my biggest turn yet.

The Story Behind the Name

When I started this Avon journey in 2006, I was Mary Halsey. In 2013, I became Mary Kominska after finally saying “yes” to my husband, Scott. (Fun fact: He actually proposed in 1987, and I said no! Proof that some of the best things in life—and business—take time and the right timing.)

The Rebrand: Mary K with Avon

I am celebrating two decades of beauty, I’m leaning into the name I was born to have. I’m officially rebranding as Mary K with Avon.

I’m the “Mary” you’ve trusted for 20 years, simply with a fresh vision and that signature Avon glow. This “pivot” is about honoring my history while stepping boldly into the future.

Why Pivot Now?

After 20 years, I’ve learned that if you aren’t growing, you’re standing still.

My 2026 Pivot means:

More Energy: A refreshed commitment to my customers.

More Expertise: Two decades of beauty knowledge at your service.

The Same Heart: I’m still the same Mary, simply more “me” than ever.

I am excited to show you what’s next!

We have some exciting news to share! To better reflect the spirit of our community and draw in an even bigger crowd, the 2026 VRE Vendor/Craft Event is officially being renamed the 2026 VRE

According to sleephealth.org70% of Americans say they get insufficient sleep at least one night a month. I’m sure you already know insufficient sleep is endemic in our country. And because sufficient sleep is as vital as the air we breathe and the food we eat, the harm from not getting enough does more damage than you’d think. Naturally, I’m telling you this because I have a solution that changed my life – and want to share it with you. (My husband Scott has already benefited from this!)

By now you know I’m willing to experiment with products to make life better. Due to the chronic problems I’ve had in getting a good night’s sleep, I’d tried everything I could find. This includes meditation, prescription, and non-prescription drugs – even “natural” remedies like Melatonin. The results ranged from no pep due to lack of sleep – to that “hangover” feeling from stronger meds.  So my days were still tired and my nights lacked good sleep.

The answer came at a business conference where Avon introduced its Inner Wellness program that included Restful Sleep and I have a story to go with this:

At the conference, I shared a room with three other women. When Avon introduced Restful Sleep, they gave us samples to try out. Now I’ve already mentioned being a light sleeper. Add to this being away from home, sharing a room with three others, and being in the midst of menopause (meaning you can’t make the room cool enough!). Even though the suggested dosage of Restful Sleep is two tablets, my wariness of taking anything new had me trying just one. It was incredible! Not only did I get a restful night of sleep, I had no “hangover” feeling and started the day feeling terrific.

Here’s the kicker.

Apparently, my bedmate was a snorer. The only reason I know this is due to the other two roommates complaining about the noise. Apparently, she kept them up all night. I asked why they didn’t try Restful Sleep. They just hadn’t thought about it.

Back home, I was so excited at how well it worked that I told Scott immediately. I also recommended he take one like I did. The ingredients in Restful Sleep include Melatonin, Magnesium, and Chamomile. Even one tablet was enough to give Scott, who is 6’6″ and 250 pounds a restful night of sleep.  Another benefit is that we found we got a good night’s sleep on half of the recommended dose. So a one-month supply will actually last two months for one person.

One last thing. The amount of sleep is important. But just as important is how deeply we sleep. These days I habitually get 7-8 hours of truly sound sleep by taking one tablet about an hour before I go to bed.

Now if you have a sleeping aid that works for you, keep taking it. But if you’re not getting the complete sleep you want and need, click here and I can help you start every day with energy.
