Can We Trust Even When Life Feels Scary?

I used to think that if I planned well enough, I could keep my life safe and steady. I thought being in control was the same as being happy. Life doesn’t always follow our plans. Lately, my world has felt like a storm. Between the deaths of five people, my son’s transition after prison, and my sister’s diagnosis with breast cancer, the ground has felt very shaky. I’ve learned that when the world is chaotic, I can’t control what happens outside. Instead, I am continuing on my journey as the “architect” of my own heart.

When things feel overwhelming, we often find ourselves in a knot of Thoughts, Emotions, and Actions (T.E.A.). Our thoughts try to anticipate the “what-ifs,” emotions feel heavy, and actions become frantic as we try to fix things we cannot control. Being an architect isn’t about stopping the storm. It’s about building a strong, safe house inside ourselves so we can stay standing while the wind blows.

I can’t change a medical diagnosis or a legal situation; however, I can choose how I show up for myself and the people I love.

Trusting isn’t about knowing exactly how things will turn out. It’s about knowing that I have the strength to handle whatever happens next. It’s about being kind to myself, setting boundaries that protect my heart, and finding peace in the middle of the mess.

It is why I wrote my 4-week course.  If you are going through a hard season and feel like you’re losing your footing, I want to help. My T.E.A. Course is a place to learn to untangle our thoughts, emotions, and actions to find your calm again. I’d love for you to join the healing journey.

What do you dream about? My 15 years with Avon has included many dreams. Yet these dreams have been accompanied by some doses of reality.

One reality was rebuilding the business three times!! Even with an established line like Avon (which continues to expand their product lines) being a sole proprietor is not easy. That’s why I’m so excited to share an unexpected trip I took a couple of weeks ago with you…

In October, Avon invited me to participate in their “VIP 2022 Kickoff Event.” I was super excited as all expenses (except my travel to and from) were paid for.  I had not traveled since Covid and the event was held in LA. So I decided to treat myself and flew First Class for the first time EVER. We stayed at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel where Pretty Woman was filmed and traveling as a VIP was incredible. I could fill pages with descriptions of the event, as well as the beautiful Christmas decorations at the hotel.

I will share with you a few highlights of what happened at the event. Along with two days of learning what’s “New in 2022,” Avon set up a studio to help us make an introductory welcome video. This experience made me see how easy a short video can be.  And here’s the best part…

…they listened to us!

As of December 9th – we now have a top-notch website with ‘whole face virtual makeovers.’  I even went on stage to share what a group of us were going to do to “delight” our customers by incorporating these new site features.

Fifteen years as an Independent Sales and Leadership Representative has taught me a lot. Starting next year, I will share more specifics of my coaching from Avon, and how my coach told me what I needed to hear, not what I wanted to hear.

One announcement I have for you now is that beginning in January, I will change from weekly blogs to two blogs a month. So much has happened in 2021 and I’m not done yet. I have been working on obtaining the two remaining life Coach certifications. My goal was to have it completed by the end of December, and I accomplished it a week early! With my business growing, one of my goals is to help others reach their potential – both personally and professionally.

So I’ll end 2021 with a few questions for you:

Are you where you want to be in your life? Where do you want to be in your life…and what do you need to do to get there?

Let’s make 2022 the best year yet!!!

Happy New Year!!!
