Can We Trust Even When Life Feels Scary?

I used to think that if I planned well enough, I could keep my life safe and steady. I thought being in control was the same as being happy. Life doesn’t always follow our plans. Lately, my world has felt like a storm. Between the deaths of five people, my son’s transition after prison, and my sister’s diagnosis with breast cancer, the ground has felt very shaky. I’ve learned that when the world is chaotic, I can’t control what happens outside. Instead, I am continuing on my journey as the “architect” of my own heart.

When things feel overwhelming, we often find ourselves in a knot of Thoughts, Emotions, and Actions (T.E.A.). Our thoughts try to anticipate the “what-ifs,” emotions feel heavy, and actions become frantic as we try to fix things we cannot control. Being an architect isn’t about stopping the storm. It’s about building a strong, safe house inside ourselves so we can stay standing while the wind blows.

I can’t change a medical diagnosis or a legal situation; however, I can choose how I show up for myself and the people I love.

Trusting isn’t about knowing exactly how things will turn out. It’s about knowing that I have the strength to handle whatever happens next. It’s about being kind to myself, setting boundaries that protect my heart, and finding peace in the middle of the mess.

It is why I wrote my 4-week course.  If you are going through a hard season and feel like you’re losing your footing, I want to help. My T.E.A. Course is a place to learn to untangle our thoughts, emotions, and actions to find your calm again. I’d love for you to join the healing journey.

In January I started my blog by asking how challenging 2022 was for you.    Now that we’re into the third month of 2023, how is this year working so far for you?  And what is your outlook for the rest of the year?
2022 was not only a challenge for individuals, but for companies as well…even established ones like LG Household & Healthcare…Avon’s parent company.  Our newly appointed CEO immediately recognized how important it was to hear from people in the field. She called a meeting for both corporate and field teams to come together and brainstorm ideas to add value in both the customer and representative experiences.  I was among the 50 selected to go to New York for three days. What an incredible experience – both professionally and personally!  In April, I will share my exciting personal experience. For now, I’ll address what’s happening with Avon.

It’s hard to put into words how much it meant to be selected as one of the voices from the field. Over the past couple of years, corporate decisions were made that did not work out as intended. This happens.  Fortunately, the need for change was recognized. That’s why I’m so excited about our new CEO of LG Household & Health Americas, Hyeyoung Moon.  She is the first female CEO of this company, and she started on December 1st.  What makes her appointment so positive is not only did she arrange this meeting but moved on it so quickly.

We were divided into six groups and mine was Branding. In a very short time, the walls of our room were papered with over 100 ideas that we brainstormed throughout half the day. That afternoon we narrowed these down to three. Next, each group presented their ideas to the other groups (and corporate). This gave corporate a total of 18 critical ideas to best serve our customers. I won’t go into detail, yet I can tell you that we’re already seeing some changes!

One thing that hasn’t changed is that Skin so Soft continues to be my #1 seller and there’s never been a better time to have this. We have found over 50 different reasons to use this product, including the fact that mosquitoes don’t like it. No matter where you live, you probably have experienced unusual wet weather this winter.  Now that it’s March, the season for mosquitoes is almost here! Listen to this quote from Glamour about the bath oil…

“This bath oil smells wonderful, and after adding a tablespoon to my bath, I was instantly relaxed. The light oil left my skin feeling ultra soft and velvety smooth.  Best of all, it locks in much-needed moisture, so bath after bath, my skin stays nourished and looking healthy.”

We also have additional products for acne-prone faces and body health. For instance, did you know you can get Korean Beauty – which are excellent products with us too!

Now I have something to ask of you. If you experienced times when Avon wasn’t meeting your needs, please contact me to talk about it and give us another chance.  I have seen firsthand how seriously Hyeyoung Moon is about quality products and customer satisfaction. There are several specials including GWP (gifts with purchase) including fun Live Shopping events.  My customers and I love our digital flippable interactive brochure. It’s like flipping through the pages of the brochure in the palm of your hand!

Finally, you can call or text 480-684-2866 to see what I and Avon can do for you. 2022 was challenging, yet I can tell you that 2023 is full of opportunity. I really look forward to hearing from you!!
