As the house turns

MOVING.

Over the past couple of months, Scott and I sold our house to move into a 55+ neighborhood. I’m sure I don’t have to remind anyone that selling and buying a home at the same time takes a lot of work.
And that’s when everything goes smoothly!

The decision-making between Scott and I was very smooth. Yet you’ll see how the events happening around this time makes me title this blog – “As the house turns. “

Not only did we have some opportunities to purchase a home, I discovered a rash on my back (Shingles)…and…someone hacked into our bank account.

I learned something from each event.

First, when it comes to real estate, I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to work with a professional agent who knows you. The first offer we made had a better offer.  The second offer was accepted but did not work. This owner was represented by agents who had simply listed the home without thoroughly checking out the premises – or the client. The home had serious issues and the owner was an older man who was potentially being taken advantage of. Had this sale gone through, it would have been a disaster. The third offer was accepted. It’s the one we bought which is so much better.

Second, during this time I had an itch on my back that I thought was a bug bite. Upon discovering two more, a friend took a look and said “Go to the doctor!” Getting treatment for the Shingles early made a huge difference in healing faster.

Third, even though I check my bank accounts daily, someone managed to get in during one night and emptied the account. Again, acting quickly with the bank, we were able to get this fixed.
I think you can see why the past couple of months have felt like a soap opera!
Back in April, I talked about turning struggle into strength. I know this world can be a tough place to navigate. It’s why at the end of every blog, I encourage you to contact me via my website. Or call/text me at 480-684-2866 for questions or assistance with hurdles you encounter.
And I have more.

My TEA course is generating great feedback. “Don’t let other people overwhelm your life or your schedule.”  This is how one person described their “aha” moment during the course.  You can register for July via Zoom; or August in person.  And there’s so much more I’ll share in the near future.
