Can We Trust Even When Life Feels Scary?

I used to think that if I planned well enough, I could keep my life safe and steady. I thought being in control was the same as being happy. Life doesn’t always follow our plans. Lately, my world has felt like a storm. Between the deaths of five people, my son’s transition after prison, and my sister’s diagnosis with breast cancer, the ground has felt very shaky. I’ve learned that when the world is chaotic, I can’t control what happens outside. Instead, I am continuing on my journey as the “architect” of my own heart.

When things feel overwhelming, we often find ourselves in a knot of Thoughts, Emotions, and Actions (T.E.A.). Our thoughts try to anticipate the “what-ifs,” emotions feel heavy, and actions become frantic as we try to fix things we cannot control. Being an architect isn’t about stopping the storm. It’s about building a strong, safe house inside ourselves so we can stay standing while the wind blows.

I can’t change a medical diagnosis or a legal situation; however, I can choose how I show up for myself and the people I love.

Trusting isn’t about knowing exactly how things will turn out. It’s about knowing that I have the strength to handle whatever happens next. It’s about being kind to myself, setting boundaries that protect my heart, and finding peace in the middle of the mess.

It is why I wrote my 4-week course.  If you are going through a hard season and feel like you’re losing your footing, I want to help. My T.E.A. Course is a place to learn to untangle our thoughts, emotions, and actions to find your calm again. I’d love for you to join the healing journey.

Maybe the better question is this…

How well are you progressing so far in 2024? I know it’s only February – but consider this – it’s February already! I hope whatever resolutions, goals or words you chose for this year are making a difference. Sticking to them is half the battle and congratulations to you for keeping your promises.  I love to hear when people succeed, so feel free to share a story or event that has made a difference in your life.
Sadly, what I hear most often is how busy people are, yet they’re not moving forward. This is why I’m asking you about your progress towards becoming the person you want to be. How is February better than January? Better than December? Let’s be honest; if you are reading (or watching) this, you are looking for something.

Last month you heard more information about my course, TEA, designed to help you with your thoughts, emotions, and actions. I also empower you to put them in motion. I’m happy to say that the people who have signed up and taken the course are thanking me for making 2024 and beyond different (meaning better) than the past. They understand how important it is to invest in themselves.

It’s what I’ve done and continue to do. Once again I will attend and serve at the Joyce Meyer’s annual conference this month. Yes, I do this every year because investing in yourself is a journey.

So often people ask me “Mary, how do you do everything you do?” The answer is easy. Once you start your journey to becoming the Best and Beautiful You that you were created to be; the sense of well-being and progress is exhilarating!  I know the hardest part is shaking off the inertia and jumping into motion.  I specifically created TEA to make this part as easy as possible.

If you’re still asking yourself “Will this really benefit me?”; click on this link to get more details of what TEA entails. It only takes a moment and it won’t cost you a thing. As always, you can contact me here, by phone, or text me at 480-684-2866.
